Why CSM?
CSM believes that mergers and acquisitions should be an integral component of every company’s overall growth strategy. The top growth performers are the companies that consistently treat M&A as a strategic process rather than an extraordinary event. These companies are constantly evaluating the external environment for future profit opportunities while systematically assessing the existing portfolio for long term fit and effective use of precious capital, making them nimble and earning superior returns.
But not every business has the resources in place to support inorganic growth initiatives on an on-going basis. And that is where CSM enters the equation. We provide our clients with access to the high-level talent and specialized skillsets that are needed to develop and execute inorganic growth plans both proactively and opportunistically. Instead of taking on the commitment of additional staff, on a purely variable cost basis, CSM’s clients are able to leverage the resources they need through an engagement structured to fit the parameters of the program.
We begin with the client’s fundamental strategy, identify and quantify the white space around the business, and then focus on the development, optimization and implementation of high impact inorganic growth strategies and tactics that complement organic growth plans. The results are maximized growth and optimized capital utilization through successful mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and divestitures of middle market-sized specialty chemicals and performance business assets.

As I began to take on chemical industry consulting work in the aftermath of the Great Recession, I created CSM in 2010. For over a decade, I have worked independently and in affiliation with the Chemark Consulting Group and CCD Partners, serving numerous clients ranging from the Fortune 100 to privately-held small to middle-market firms to individual investors and CEOs seeking to put deals together and create new businesses.
Unlike a lot of advisors, I have been the owner/operator/entrepreneur, and I know what it means to put personal capital at risk, raise capital from investors, and launch new ventures. My goal is to share unique and valuable insight, skills and capabilities with my clients based on my blend of corporate, consulting and entrepreneurial experiences.
